NFC East, in detail. The first target on Monday was the mired-in-mediocrity Dallas Cowboys. On Tuesday, we roasted the garbage Giants. Today we'll tackle the always dysfunctional Washington Redskins. To note, we will not be talking about the positives of any of the Eagles' NFC East rivals, because, well, that's no fun. This will be 100 percent vitriolic. And yes, we'll (try to) torch the Eagles at the end of the series as well, though again, I'm not sure exactly how just yet.1) Bruce Allen is a snake and a bumbling moron“Bruce Allen is the personification of an NFL winner. Our fans know his heritage; we know his abilities. He is the right person to lead our club.”– Redskins owner Dan SnyderThat's what it says on Bruce Allen's bio in big, bold letters on the Redskins' website.Allen was hired to be the Redskins' GM at the tail end of the 2009 season, and he has been the head personnel decision maker ever since, save for the short tenure of Scot McCloughan, who Allen helped oust after two season (2015-2016) with the team. In Allen's eight full seaso... ( reasons the Redskins will be a dumpster fire this season)
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Piles of trash stacked up at a popular North Texas taco shop have some neighboring businesses claiming the trash is just the start of the problems.Pictures surfaced this week of bags of trash sitting stacked up at the outside patio at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Deep Ellum. The trash had sat there for days in the rain.“It’s terrible. It’s not something that we’re proud of,” said Aly Bhagat, one of the owner of the Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Deep Ellum. “When I saw those pictures, I didn’t know what to think myself.”The situation got so bad, the city paid the restaurant a visit on Thursday.“Any time the fire marshal comes, you’re kind of freaking out,” said Bhagat. He said with limited space in Deep Ellum, his restaurant often partners with nearby businesses to use the dumpsters they own.“But that got shut down a couple weeks ago because it was being overused by a lot of restaurants,” said Bhagat. So Fuzzy’s dumped the trash on the back patio until they could figure out a so... Credit: Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports (Photo: Matthew Emmons, Matthew Emmons)The Cowboys were embarrassed on their home turf at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night. They can lick their wounds for three days before taking the field again at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving Day.Five things to know about the dumpster-fire of a game -- or at least a second half -- Sunday night:It was close… for a halfThe Cowboys actually took a lead into halftime, as they have in three of their five losses this season. The offense had mustered just three field goals, but the defense was pitching a shutout after an opening-drive touchdown by Philadelphia. Cowboys cornerback Anthony Brown dropped an interception that could’ve opened the door to more points for Dallas before the break. Instead, it remained 9-7.But then the seco... (WFAA)
Andeavor, the pipeline owner formerly known as Tesoro Logistics, plans to continue treating a stockpile of contaminated soil through the winter, said Dallas Burnum, project manager.Contractors "bake" the oil out of the soil using an environmental remediation technology known as thermal desorption. Two mobile thermal desorption units are on site and crews from Nelson Environmental Remediation of Alberta, Canada, heat the soil around the clock.Soil samples are tested by a third party and clean soil is returned to the pit, which was excavated in some areas more than 50 feet deep to capture oil that spread.Burnum said his goal is to return the land to the Jensens next spring, but weather and other factors could affect the progress. Ultimately, it will be up to the North Dakota Department of Health to determine when cleanup is complete."It was a very massive amount of work that was put into this," said Dave Glatt, enforcement chief for the Environmental Health Section. "I do think the progress is good. We haven't seen this type of remediation to this extent before."About 6,000 barrels, or 30 percent of the spilled oil, was recovered. The rest of the light, sweet crude oil seeped into the ground, which in that area contains a lot of permeable sand and gravel that allowed the oil to spread."When this occurred, they had no idea that it was going to go this deep," said Bill Suess, spill investigation program manager for the health department. "That's been the biggest challenge of it."The total area being cleaned up is about 14 acres, but the company has leased 75 acres from the Jen... (West Fargo Pioneer)
