Showers bringing less than an inch of rain could return Thursday to the region, with wind gusts maxing out around 25 mph.The weekend also could see more rain and thunderstorms, with the best chance of lightning on Saturday, according to the weather service.In the earlier round of storms Tuesday, Grand Forks was the target with damage to structures reported. There is a lot of cleanup needed with officials from both East Grand Forks, Minn., and Grand Forks saying it could take two or three weeks to clear the cities of fallen branches and trees. City workers from both cities were out Wednesday cleaning up after the storm.“There is still a lot of debris,” East Grand Forks Public Works Director Jason Stordahl said, adding a few houses and vehicles were damaged by falling trees.He said the roof of the VFW Hockey Arena was damaged by wind, and bleachers and backstop netting was destroyed at Stauss Park. Roofing from the East Grand Inn also was blown off. No injuries were reported in the two cities. (WDAY)
