An Ohio-based company has filed a lawsuit against Orangeburg County claiming the county and its business partnership with a recycling company resulted in damages to its property.According to the lawsuit filed July 17 in federal court, Carolina Pines LLC is suing Orangeburg County and nine other counties for "damages ... suffered to its property" that "impaired the property and made it unsuitable for use."In an answer to the suit, Orangeburg County denies the claims, saying it did not have a relationship with Carolina Pines and was not responsible for any damages or the condition to the facility.County Administrator Harold Young could not be reached for comment.The lawsuit states that Carolina Pines entered into a lease agreement with North Carolina-based Creative Recycling Systems in June 2013 to rent the warehouse. According to the lawsuit, the counties contracted with Creative Recycling Systems between June 2009 and June 2014 and the company, along with the counties, "agreed to share and did in fact share profits from the processing...
