“Outstanding service. They were extremely careful delivering the extra large container into our driveway.” -- A. L. GARNER
Initial tests show a container ship carrying up to 18,000 cargo boxes could barely fit under the Ravenel Bridge. A vessel of that size would not be able to fit through the Panama Canal because of its width, so Charleston-bound ships coming from Asia would likely traverse the Suez Canal instead.During the expanded Panama Canal's first year, tankers carrying liquefied petroleum and natural gas combined to make up 40 percent of overall business while dry bulk, roll-on roll-off and other vessels comprised the rest.
